It is expected that in a super hero movie, there will be some cartoonish type action, but I feel like Disney has damaged the super hero genre. The dialogue feels forced, the plot can get confusing (trying to steal a page from the Matrix playbook where the characters question what is real).and I personally didn't care much for the laser gun action sequences. This movie, Captain Marvel, seems like a step back. Audience members could feel themselves caring about the storyline and characters. #CAPTAIN MARVEL MOVIE#The Wonder Woman movie had heart, comedy, action, and the dialogue felt natural. When Gal Gadot stepped on screen as Wonder Woman, it felt like a step forward having a female being the star super hero. Overall Captain Marvel was an insult to the entire MCU and I’m disappointed Captain Marvel didn’t die in EndgameEndgamenowhere … Expand The Skrulls being good guys wasn’t foreshadowed at all coming out of the blue for another cheap and mishandled message this time about black people. What should’ve been an action filled battle with her partner was treated as a joke throwing away all respect I could of had for this movie. And the movie even states she’s nothing without her powers which is beyond true but then we get a cheap moral done lazily so she wins. Ronan had no reason to be involved except to show how high and mighty CM is. Her arrogance is never treated as a flaw because again she’s always right and it doesn’t help that Nick Fury is dumbed down to a sidekick role and only serves to make jokes and get beat up and the way he loses his eye is beyond a cheap gag and insulting to the character we know and love. The plot is all over the place Captain Marvel is a Mary Sue with no character traits besides being always right and arrogant for the sake of feminist being happy. Hopefully we’ll get bigger and better movies like this out of it. I don’t really agree, Wonder Woman did it first and did it better, but I’m glad it did so well financially. I know this movie means a lot to a lot of people and I think that’s great. There just isn’t a lot about it that I think is especially good either. There were some kinda bad moments, the writing and social commentary is extremely obvious and on-the-nose and there is an absolutely baffling music choice in one of the final battles that I feel is trying to be like an Edgar Wright movie or GotG but it just sticks out like a sore thumb, but that’s about it as far as actual issues I have with it. It’s not as good as Guardians of the Galaxy, but it’s not as bad as Ant-Man and The Wasp. The connections with the other movies? They’re fine. There are one or two things I thought this movie did really well, the de-ageing effects are fantastic, the ‘90s setting was fun and I kinda liked the Star Wars-ish vibe it had at times, but other than that this is just a serviceable, cookie-cutter, nothing-special-about-it superhero movie. It’s safe, unchallenging popcorn entertainment. Anyway, how is it? It’s fine! It’s like every single other middle-of-the-road Marvel solo movie ever made. I don’t know, some **** about Brie Larson hating white men or something, even though she literally has nothing to do with the writing or production of the movie? I don’t get it. And by controversial, what I mean is it made a bunch of nerdbro jackasses on the internet mad for some reason. I don’t know, some **** about Brie Larson hating white men or something, even though she literally has nothing to do with the writing Another very popular and “controversial” film.
